Every banana here is a real visitor, dancing in perfect sync โ€” same beat, whole planet.

the fine print, in neon

what is this place?

In 1999 I drew a little banana that never stopped dancing. Twenty-seven years later, it has a club. Every banana on this floor is a real visitor โ€” no bots, no fakes. The only characters who aren't guests are staff: Barty behind the bar and tonight's DJ in the booth. They have jobs.

And here's the trick the whole place runs on: there is only one song, and it never stops. Every banana on Earth dances on the same beat โ€” open the rave on your phone and your laptop and watch them match, frame for frame. Same beat, whole planet.

No account. No cost. Your banana walks in dressed the way you left it in the builder, or a fresh one is generated at the door.

the loop

what do you actually do here?

  • Boogie. Arrow keys, WASD, or tap the floor. The dance never stops โ€” walking is just dancing with direction.
  • Chase what the floor spawns. Jelly drops, snacks, power-ups, the lost vinyl, the golden banana โ€” being first is the sport. Everything you grab fills the JELLY meter; a full meter is yours to spend on a personal drop.
  • Catch tonight's drop. Once a night the club drops one wearable โ€” walk into it and it's yours forever, worn everywhere your banana goes. Visitor-made gear doesn't wait for a drop night: it goes on sale in the Banana Stand's back-catalog. Draw one in the Items Workshop and yours could be on that shelf.
  • Fix what breaks. Every half hour or so, something GOES WRONG in this club โ€” drinks spill, the power dies, a mega-jelly escapes the walk-in, the balloon rig lets go, the big screen turns into a camera. Everyone gets it at the same moment: the LED calls it, a quest tool appears next to your emote buttons, and one calm line above the buttons tells you what to do. Fixing it pays jelly and ๐Ÿช™ coins โ€” and it's never the same thing twice in a row.
  • Outlast everyone. Survive 5 minutes and the stage opens: dance behind the DJ, earn the 🔥 emote. Survive 30 and the glowstick is yours forever. The endurance board remembers.
  • Make a name. Everything you do pays into your club LEVEL โ€” the gold bar by the JELLY meter, 1 to 99, forever. Climb the brackets and the roster shows your title in gold: On the List, The Regular, VIPโ€ฆ Legend of the Floor.
  • Collect the marks. Everything you earn here lands on your banana pass โ€” badges, gear, level, stats. The rave writes your history.

who & what is on the floor

Everything below is the actual pixel art from the club, at actual chunkiness.

Barty, the bartender โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Barty, the bartender

Runs the bar, never sleeps. Calls HAPPY HOUR every 5th minute (first banana to the counter wins the beer) and mixes specials in between. And when something goes wrong on his floor โ€” a spillage, a blackout, something loose from the walk-in โ€” heโ€™s the first to yell about it. Help him out. He pays in jelly and coins.

Jelly drops โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Jelly drops

It rains jelly on this floor โ€” watch it fall from the rig, land with a wobble, and wait. Hoover it up to fill the JELLY meter; when sheโ€™s full, you know what time it is: your own personal drop, spent whenever you like.

The lost vinyl โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The lost vinyl

The DJ keeps losing records. Every 7 minutes one lands somewhere on the floor โ€” carry it back to the booth and the whole club gets a bonus drop, courtesy of you.

The golden banana โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The golden banana

Every half hour, once, somewhere: the golden one. The finder gets the trophy in their hand and โ€œThe Golden Oneโ€ badge on their pass โ€” and for the whole floor, it rains golden bananas.

Tonightโ€™s drop โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Tonightโ€™s drop

Once a night the club drops ONE wearable. It floats through with a NEW tag every few minutes โ€” walk into it and itโ€™s yours forever, worn on the spot for the whole floor to see. And hereโ€™s the thing: some of these were drawn by visitors. Catch one and a real personโ€™s name rides your outfit.

Happy hour & the specials โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Happy hour & the specials

Every 5th minute Barty yells and pours ONE beer โ€” first banana to the counter carries it for all to see. Between happy hours: rotating specials. The daiquiri gives you disco legs, the milkshake goes straight to the hips, and the waterโ€ฆ the water takes EVERYTHING off. Barty insists.

The loose cable โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The loose cable

The rigโ€™s wiring is older than Barty (nothing is older than Barty). Grab the live end to tidy the hazard โ€” youโ€™ll shock-blink like a cartoon, and brushing past friends zaps them too.

Hot sauce โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Hot sauce

A bottle of the house burner lands on the floor every few minutes. Drink it and your footsteps catch fire for a while. Completely safe. Probably.

Club snacks โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Club snacks

The conveyor drops something chaseable every ~75 seconds. Grab a slice and your banana holds it high; the whole box rides the other glove (and pays a meal of jelly). Candy? A sugar rush โ€” youโ€™ll shake it off. Literally.

The balloon โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The balloon

Catch it and up you go: sealed inside, frozen mid-pose, drifting over the floor faster than anyone can dance. It deflates after a minute. Gravity is a rule, not a law.

The mop & the spillage โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The mop & the spillage

Every so often, drinks hit the floor โ€” five puddles, and every banana who crosses one slips. The mop waits on Bartyโ€™s counter: grab it, stand on a puddle, hit the ๐Ÿงน button that appears by your emotes. A spotless floor pays jelly, coins, and Bartyโ€™s eternal respect. Back by popular demand โ€” literally, someone wrote in.

The jelly boss โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The jelly boss

Sometimes the thing that escapes the walk-in isโ€ฆ big. It drops in from above the rig, bounces around the floor bumping bananas aside, and SPLITS when a dancer runs it down โ€” one big, to three, to nine little ones sprinting for the corners. Pop them all. The floor ends up sticky with victory.

The breaker box โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The breaker box

When the power cuts out โ€” and it does โ€” the whole club goes dark: the LED to static, the beams off, the DJ a silhouette. One thing stays lit: the breaker box in the top-right corner. Get there and FLIP it till the lights slam back on. Every flip throws sparks.

The glowstick โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The glowstick

Survive 30 minutes on the floor and the neon glowstick is yours forever โ€” it pumps with the beat in your bananaโ€™s glove, here and in the builder.

The gold star โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The gold star

Grab it and THE ENTOURAGE arrives: two copies of you replaying your every step, half a beat behind. A conga line of yourself. Stop moving and they walk right into you.

Moon boots โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

Moon boots

One small step for banana. Big lunar hops with a proper squash on every landing โ€” fifteen seconds of low gravity on a crowded dance floor.

The jello cube โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The jello cube

Eat the wobble, become the wobble: your whole banana goes jelly-legged, wobbling from the feet up. On this floor, thatโ€™s practically a religious experience.

The sparkler โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The sparkler

Write your name on the night. A white-hot ribbon of light follows wherever you walk, spitting golden sparks as it burns out behind you.

The jelly magnet โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The jelly magnet

For twelve seconds the floorโ€™s jelly wants YOU โ€” every loose drop slides across the boards straight into your banana, and fresh jelly keeps raining. Pure harvest.

The VHS tape โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

The VHS tape

Tracking error. Your banana glitches like a tape thatโ€™s been rewound one time too many โ€” slices shear sideways, a white band rolls through, then it recovers. Then it doesnโ€™t.

โ€ฆand the rest โ€” banana rave pixel sprite

โ€ฆand the rest

Many other items and drinks turn up when they feel like it โ€” mirror shards, lost phones, ice cubes, things Barty wonโ€™t put on the menu. Hang around and see. They donโ€™t wait long: five seconds, then poof.

the rhythm

the club runs on a clock

Nothing here is random โ€” the whole planet shares one schedule. Stay long enough and you'll feel it:

  • every ~75 seconds โ€” the conveyor drops something chaseable
  • every 2 minutes โ€” the spotlight wanders; dancing inside it is bonus jelly
  • every 3rd minute โ€” THE DROP. Strobes, pyro, everybody peaks
  • every ~3ยฝ minutes โ€” tonight's wearable drop floats through, until you've caught it
  • every ~4 minutes โ€” ๐Ÿช™ bananacoins glint on the floor. Usually one, sometimes a pile โ€” walk into them and they're yours. The stand out back takes them; jelly stays jelly
  • every 5th minute โ€” HAPPY HOUR at the bar (and specials in between)
  • every 7 minutes โ€” the DJ loses a vinyl. Again.
  • every 8 minutes โ€” THE WAVE. Barty yells, the floor ripples
  • every 30 minutes โ€” something BREAKS: a floor quest for whoever's in the club. Never the same one twice in a row
  • every 30 minutes โ€” the golden banana. Once. Somewhere.

the usual questions

banana rave FAQ

Is it really live?

Yes. Every banana is a real visitor, right now. When the floor is quiet, that's honesty, not failure โ€” bring a friend.

Why is everyone in perfect sync?

One song, one wall clock, every banana on Earth on the same beat. It's the oldest trick in the club and it never misses.

Why does the club never close?

Because the music never does. One song, one wall clock โ€” it was playing before you arrived and it'll play after you leave. And every half hour something on the floor breaks, just to keep the staff honest.

What are the floor quests?

Every half hour, something goes wrong: puddles hit the floor, the power dies, a mega-jelly escapes the walk-in, the balloon rig lets go โ€” or the big screen turns into a camera and puts whoever's standing in frame up on the wall for the whole hour. A quest tool appears by your emote buttons, a hint above them tells you what to do, and finishing pays jelly and bananacoins. Same quest, same moment, for everyone in the club โ€” and never the same one twice in a row.

What's the JELLY meter?

The gauge of the night. Jelly drops, snacks, the spotlight, surviving drops โ€” it all fills it. Full meter = it starts flashing, and tapping it drops the floor โ€” just for you.

What's my LEVEL?

Your standing at the club, 1 to 99 โ€” the gold bar under the JELLY meter. Every jelly and pickup pays into it, it syncs across your devices with your pass, and it never goes down. Titles land at the big levels, and the floor roster shows them in gold โ€” the room knows who's a regular.

Where do the wearable drops come from?

People draw them. Anyone can open the Items Workshop, draw an item right on the banana โ€” a hat, a sword, a rubber duck โ€” and submit it to the club. The banana guy approves the good ones, and then they drop here with the maker's name riding them. Make it. The club drops it. Someone catches it. Your name rides it.

Do my things carry over?

Everything. Badges and stats live on your pass, and earned gear like the glowstick follows your banana into the builder and everywhere else it goes.
